Particularly in cold or wet climates, such as during rainy seasons, the lack of adequate protective clothing exacerbates the hardships faced by these individuals. In our operational area, over two-thirds of illiterate adults are women, indicating a significant gender disparity in educational opportunities. Gender-based violence and discrimination further hinder female students’ ability to stay in school, particularly when they come from impoverished backgrounds. Financial difficulties often lead families to prioritize the education of boys over girls, resulting in girls being pulled out of school to contribute to family income. To address these challenges, we have established a special fund dedicated to supporting girls. Your Gift of Hope will directly contribute to enabling a girl to remain in school and access the numerous opportunities that come with a quality education. Your donation will also support counseling and assistance programs aimed at preventing early school dropout among girls, as well as broader efforts to empower women and girls in the community.
